Meet the Hat Makers
At Will & Bear, we work with makers who honour tradition and craftsmanship — not production lines. Across two remarkable factories — one in the highlands of Inner Mongolia, the other by the coast in Burleigh Heads, Australia — our hats are shaped using time-honoured techniques and natural materials. From locally sourced sheepskin to ethically processed Australian wool, each piece is made with care, not compromise. Whether it’s hand-blocking over open flames or stitching every brim by hand, we choose quality over convenience, and craft over shortcuts — always.
Tucked away on Queensland’s coastline, our Burleigh Heads workshop is the heart of our Australian-made collection. Here, a passionate team of makers handcraft our wool and sheepskin accessories using locally sourced, regenerative materials.
Every piece is cut, stitched, and finished by hand — supporting Australian jobs, reducing transport emissions, and preserving traditional craftsmanship. When we say made in Australia, we mean it — start to finish.
In the mountains of Inner Mongolia, our wool felt hats are brought to life by some of the world’s most skilled hat makers. This family-owned factory has been perfecting traditional hat-making techniques for over 60 years, processing and shaping felt with unmatched precision and care.
Working exclusively with ethically sourced Australian wool, they control every step of the process — from raw fibre to finished form — making them true felt specialists.
This partnership allows us to honour slow fashion at its finest: timeless craftsmanship, low-impact materials, and hats that carry the legacy of the hands that made them.
