We founded Will & Bear wanting to make a lasting, positive impact to the Earth that we love to explore, and from the beginning we made a commitment to always share a percentage of our profits. We strive to do good business, and our impact partners help us achieve our impact objectives and deliver our promises. When selecting our impact partners, we focus on five key areas: reforestation, preservation, regenerative farming, environmental stewardship & carbon offsetting. Our aim is to give our customers the opportunity, through small actions like purchasing a hat, to contribute to securing a healthy environment for future generations.
Planting trees, changing peoples lives
Since the brand's inception in 2016, we have committed to planting 10 trees for every hat sold. With Trees For The Future's help, we have planted over 450 acres of Forest Garden and helped over 5,000 people achieve financial stability. Through its robust program that’s been in development for over 30 years, Trees For The Future hit all five of our key impact objectives and they serve as a model for what we look for in all of our impact partners.
Trees For The Future operate as our global giving partner. No matter where in the world the sale is made, we will plant 10 trees with Trees for the Future. This ongoing partnership provides our customers a platform to create lasting impact through one simple action.
Leaders in regenerative biodiversity
Will & Bear and Odonata both believe business can be a major tool for positive biodiversity, climate and social impact, and key to inspiring people to live a healthy life in harmony with nature. Odonata is committed to the restoration and rejuvenation of Australian biodiversity, and helped to connect us with our Australian wool supplier, who runs a regenerative, sheep grazing farm with help from Indigenous caretakers. In addition to using regenerative farming and grazing, our wool farm (with the help of Odonata) also runs a program to rehabilitate and release endangered species to live alongside the sheep in predator-proof paddocks.
Our partnership with Odonata helps us meet our commitment of investing in regenerative farming and bringing our hat production back to our roots, making Australian wool a leading sustainable material choice for the future.
ONE NATION, UNDER TREES
American Forests is the oldest national nonprofit conservation organisation in the United States. Since their founding in 1875, they have been the pathfinders for creating healthy forests from coast to coast. American Forests is our newest impact partner & serves as our local USA giving partner. We believe it's good business to give back to the places we operate, and through American Forests we give our North American customers peace of mind their purchase help contribute to preserving their backyard.
American Forests aim to create healthy and resilient forests, from cities to wilderness, that deliver essential benefits for climate, people, water and wildlife. They advance their mission through forestry innovation, place-based partnerships to plant and restore forests, and movement building.
OUR NATURE TO PROTECT
Rainforest Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation that has been protecting and restoring rainforests in Australia and internationally since March 1999. Their work provides opportunities for individuals and businesses to Protect Rainforests Forever. Through our partnership with Rainforest Rescue, we are excited to help preserve some of the world’s most pristine rainforest, located right on our doorstep.
Their projects re-establish rainforests through planting, maintenance and restoration programs, as well as purchasing and protecting high conservation value rainforest and preserving its biodiversity.
