City Plants is a non-profit organisation running a public-private partnership between the City of Los Angeles and six other non-profit organisations. They work with community groups, residents and businesses to coordinate tree planting, distribution and care throughout Los Angeles.
At present, we are losing trees at a time when we need them the most. As the climate continues to get hotter, trees are key to cooling LA's homes, streets and schools. The organisation advocates for aggressive planting now to ensure that as temperatures rise, the city is equipped with a cooling canopy of healthy, mature trees.
Whether you're planting trees in your own yard, signing up for a street tree care commitment, volunteering at a community tree planting event or donating, you can help LA to grow a healthy urban forest for generations to come.
On Saturday, November 13th, City Plants hosted an in-person event to plant more than 50 trees on the parkways of the Arts District neighborhood in Los Angeles. Will & Bear donated 100 caps and bucket hats for all volunteers to wear while planting, and beyond. We're looking forward to growing our partnership with City Plants to ensure every neighbourhood in LA has equal access to trees and their benefits: clean air, energy efficiency, better heath and cooling shade.
