Road tripping through the wild Southwest

Brie & Brandon's road trip through the Southwest was something that had been calling their name for a while but finding the time to actually travel made it one of those bucket list trips that don't come along very often (you know the one). This pair covered ground from Los Angeles, through Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. It really was the ultimate road trip and one that you need to see for yourself to get a complete understanding of the stunning landscapes and rich, Fall colours of the Southwest.

Come along for the adventure as they take along the way with them for this epic trip!

Brie & Brandon: We began from Los Angeles, California and made our way to Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. In Colorado we raced against time to see as many fall colors as possible stopping in Crested Butte, Ouray, and Telluride. Fall in these adorable old mining towns is magical from the small local coffee shops decorated with fallen orange leaves to the treacherous mountain passes overlooking the small towns below.

Road trip ready
Finding gems in Utah

We definitely checked some things off the bucket list in Utah and were able to see the craziest variety of landscapes imaginable. Going from Moab to Hanksville to Escalante to Kanab we felt like we were on a different planet. We pushed our comfort zones repelling in Moab and explored the remote moon-like landscapes all throughout Hanksville driving for hours without seeing another car or person.

Arizona and New Mexico have some of their own crazy rock formations to explore. Sunrise and sunset was our favorite time to be outside because of the intense glow from the multi-colored rock formations. After traveling for four hours on a dirt road with deep sand we were lucky enough to witness the launch of a rocket at blue hour at one of our favorite spots. We felt so lucky!

Camping on the road

On our way back home through Nevada we stopped in one of our favorite and one of the most underrated destinations, Valley of Fire State Park. Morning coffee out of the back of our truck with the sun just starting to light and heat all the rocks around us was the perfect culmination to our roadtrip.

“The best part about having a rough itinerary is all the new things you discover along the way
Fall in Colorado

There’s never really enough time to fully explore all the Southwest has to offer and we are already itching to go back. The best part about having a rough itinerary is all the new things you discover along the way making the desire to get back out there even stronger.
