Travel creator and storyteller Tobias Mant, known as @tobiasmantaray, recently set off to explore Sri Lanka — with our Tasman Travel Backpack along for the ride.
Between tropical coastlines, winding roads, train rides and days spent exploring somewhere new, Tobias put Tasman to work the way we always imagined it: packed up, carried often and taken well beyond the everyday.

Meet Tobias
Tobias is a travel and adventure photographer with an eye for storytelling and the moments that make you want to pack a bag and head somewhere new.
Originally from the UK and now based in Western Australia, his work has taken him to some pretty special corners of the world. His photography is all about capturing atmosphere and feeling — from rugged coastlines to wild landscapes and the quieter moments found somewhere along the way.
So when the Tasman Travel Backpack joined him for his latest adventure through Sri Lanka, we were pretty excited to see where it would end up.
For us, there’s no better way to test a travel backpack than to actually travel with it.

Sri Lanka was a fitting first big adventure for Tasman.
From days on the move to exploring new landscapes, Tobias travelled with everything he needed packed into one bag — putting Tasman through the realities of life on the road.
And that’s exactly where we want to see it.
Not sitting perfectly untouched, but thrown over shoulders, packed and repacked, carried onto trains, taken down unfamiliar roads and brought along for whatever comes next.
Exploring Sri Lanka, One Road at a Time
Sri Lanka is the kind of place made for travelling slowly.
The journey is as much a part of the adventure as the destination — winding roads, changing landscapes, local towns, tropical coastlines and plenty of moments worth stopping for along the way.
With Tasman on his back and camera close by, Tobias documented the trip as he does best: capturing the atmosphere of a place rather than simply passing through it.
It’s exactly the kind of travel we love. A little slower, a little more curious and open to whatever you find along the way.
