Outback Elegance: Capturing Love in the Red Earth with Our Signature Hat Collection

Outback Elegance: Capturing Love in the Red Earth with Our Signature Hat Collection

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Outback Australia—where endless sky meets fiery red soil—this intimate wedding unfolds as a visual love poem. Captured through the lens of OLT Media (Overland Travellers), the celebration is steeped in authenticity: sun-kissed moments, dusty trails, and the timeless allure of wide-brimmed hat silhouettes. Our wedding hat collection shines in each frame, adding texture, character, and an unmistakable sense of place. These handcrafted pieces not only top off your look—they tell a story rooted in the land’s bold spirit, adventurous heart, and enduring romance.

1. Meet Holly and Matt

We are the duo behind OLT Media. We spend seven months of the year shooting weddings across the Riverina in NSW. When wedding season eases, we hit the road in our LandCruisers to film for Overland Travellers. Work and play share the same path.

2. Why the Prairie Hotel

On our first lap of Australia in 2019 we stopped to help fix a tyre in the Flinders. That chance meeting led to weekend work at the Prairie Hotel. We kept returning and even spent the COVID years out there. With that connection and the dramatic landscape, a destination wedding in Parachilna felt right.

3. Pre wedding in the red sands

The day before the wedding we headed out for a cowboy themed shoot in the red dunes. Matt wore our Buck Cream Cowboy Hat and it set the tone alongside the vintage LandCruiser he had ready after months of tinkering. A lit cigar, big sky and clean lines. These frames became instant favourites.

4. The cars that carry our story

Two classics joined the weekend. The restored LandCruiser and my great granddad’s car. Both took months of work to bring to life and both felt at home in the outback light. They are part of our family story.

5. One long table at the pub

We set a single long table out the front of the Prairie. Holly handled the styling with natural tones that echoed the desert palette. Good food, local drinks and easy conversation. It felt like a country dinner with everyone we love.

6. Music all weekend

Live music flowed each day. Laid back afternoons turned into dance floor nights. It gave the celebration its rhythm.

7. Ceremony and sunset at Glass Gorge

On the day we slipped out to Glass Gorge as the sun dropped. It is one of our favourite spots. The light was soft and the colours ran warm. The stills and the film were everything we hoped for.

8. The Cream Cowboy Hat That Finishes The Look

A great wedding hat does more than top off an outfit, it sets the tone and adds shape while keeping you comfortable outdoors. The Buck Cream Cowboy Hat pairs with suits, silk, linen, and boots, reading refined at the ceremony and relaxed at golden hour. It photographs beautifully in soft light and hard sun, becomes a keepsake that holds the day, and is an easy way to add personality without stealing the show.

9. The last piece of the puzzle

Out bush, a cream cowboy hat felt right. The Buck Cream Cowboy Hat drew compliments all weekend and matched the look from the red sands to the pub steps. Simple and timeless. The kind of piece that anchors a look and holds a memory.
